Namoi Valley Archers held a 14 target IFAA round on Sunday with competitors taking the opportunity to gain valuable match practice for this weekend’s NSW State IFAA championships to be held in Gloucester. The IFAA round is a highly technical test of archery ability with competitors required to shoot 4 arrows per target at marked distances with the longest target set at 80 yards. Matt Wittman set the highest score of the day to score a comfortable win in the sighted division. Wittman got off to a slow start but stormed home scoring a perfect score on each of the last 5 targets. John Clark returned a solid round to finish second with Greg Donovan finishing third. Ken Hill finished the day as the top compound archer after compiling an excellent round with Karen Hudson grabbing second place with Nathan Murrell finishing in third. Juniors, Sebastian Donovan and Zac Hayne turned on a first class contest with Donovan just doing enough to record the win with both archers showing outstanding form. Club members are asked to finalize their club shirt orders at the next club event to be held on May 30th, further details can be obtained by ringing 67423527.
