Namoi Valley Archers held a 2 round ABA event on Sunday with club members taking the final opportunity to prepare for the 2009 Australian Championships to be held at Mildura over the Easter weekend. Competitors took to the Outback range in perfect weather conditions and some excellent scores were recorded. Matt Wittman tuned up for the Nationals putting together two top class rounds to score a narrow 2 point win over John Clark in the Open division with Greg Donovan grabbing third place. Darrell Hudson was in sensational form in the Traditional division scorching round the course to score a comfortable win with Peter Stubbs also shooting well to take second with Michael Patrick in third. James Boxsell was another archer in great form scoring a decisive win in the Junior Open contest with Sebastian Donovan just edging out Cameron Boxsell in a spirited battle for the minor placings. In the Junior Compound division Jarrod Stubbs showed his class to score a good win with Sam Snape taking second place and Sam Zelinski finishing third. The next club shoot will be held on April 26th.
